There is no doubt that the Italian Aperitif Aperol showed its mixability as four Southwest Florida Bartenders submitted winning recipes in the 2010 Aperol Mixmaster Challenge. The ‘locals only’ contest received entries from across America and showed the creativity of the bartenders and the versatility of the slightly bitter, but refreshing orange-flavored Aperol Italian Aperitif that is Italy’s #1 selling spirit brand. Winners in three categories split $1000 in total prize money and a fourth winner won a special prize for a recipe using Absolut Vodka. The contest was sponsored by Palm Bay Imports, Southern Wine and Spirits and BeverageUnderground.com

1 and 1/2 oz Aperol
1/2 oz dutch Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate
1/2 oz creme de cocoa-white
This is based on a 2 1/2 oz martini. Portions can be modified.

Mixing Directions:
Chocolate swirl in the martini glass.Mix all three ingredients in ice as a martini,strain and garnish with an orange peel curl draping down the outside.

2 oz. Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka
1 oz. Grey Goose LaOrange Vodka
1/2 oz. Aperol
splash Orange Juice

Chill all ingredients in shaker then serve in tall glass garnished with orange wheel

1/2 prt. Aperol
1/2 prt. chambord
1 prt. ruby red grapefruit juice (chilled)
2 prts. champagne (chilled )
red grapefruit wedges

Mixing Directions:
take champagne glass and pour in first the chamborg, then the aperol, then the grapefruit juice, and top off with the champage. garnish with red grapefruit wedge

*Absolut/Aperol Based Cocktail
Berry Mixed Up

1 oz. Absolut Citron
1/2 oz Absolut Rasberri
1/4 oz Triple Sec
= parts sour mix and cranberry juice

Mix all ingredients in shaker and transfer to highball glass garnished with fresh raspberries and lemon twist
